Breeze app helps you still your mind, focus on whats important here and now, or wind down, all using just a series of breathing exercises.

Breeze is pioneering remote plethysmography (rPPG) technology to help you estimate your vital signs by analizing the light reflected from your face using advanced machine learning models. All within a simple breathing exercise.

Select the exercises duration, and you are ready to go!

The list of supported breathing exercises includes:

- Deep Belly
- Relax
- Pursed-Lip
- Square breathing

The rPPG funcationality is opt-in only and requires camera permission to function. The functionality is free for all users during phase 1 of Breaze app distribution (late September 2022)

In addition
- you can easily set up Apple Health app integration to store the vital signs and breathing sessions in the secure system-provided storage.

ON REMOTE PLETHYSMOGRAPHY TECHNOLOGY (rPPG)
Under the hood of Breaze vital signs estimation functionality is remote plethysmography technology. rPPG is based on the same principles as regular plethysmography – the one prevalent in wearables such as smartwatches. Instead of light from a dedicated source (usually green or red LEDs), ambient light reflected from the skin of the face is analyzed. Hence contact with the body is eliminated, and the measurement is contactless (or remote).

For a better overview of the science behind the technology, refer to a page hosted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
Breaze is NOT a medical or diagnostic product. The technology used for vital signs estimation is experimental and by any means does not substitute medical devices. The displayed vital signs are estimations and should be treated as such, and are not intended for medical use, including self-diagnosis or consultation with a doctor. They are only provided for general fitness and wellness purposes. To undergo any treatment or diagnosis, consult with a medical professional.

DATA PRIVACY
In order to estimate vital signs, the Breaze app uses only a selfie-video stream capturing a small region of skin on the upper cheek of a persons face. No identifiable features are analyzed. For trends and history, the app saves vital signs estimation results only within the secure Apple Health apps storage on an opt-in basis. Users can remove thi data from the Apple Health app at any time.
